The boys....

have been up a lot of fun these past few days. This past Saturday dad took them to a birthday party at Enchanted Island at Encanto Park. That's an amusement park catering to the younger set. They had fun going on the rides and doing party type stuff. Sunday Papa took the boys to the carnival at the church that he attends. It was just the three of them. They went on the ferris wheel and were able to see our sub-division from the top. They came home with blow-up-able camouflage M-16s to commemorate their day. Yesterday the boys went swimming in Mama and Papa's pool. The water was 71 degrees - way too cold for me! But they had fun. Last night the buggers got haircuts or as Papa calls it - they got their ears lowered!! Today at school, they had Field Day - all sorts of activities outside. They had to wear shirts that they each made in class.

A work in progress...

I guess you could call it a form of spring cleaning. We are working on replacing the carpeting downstairs with laminate flooring and we are painting. So along the way, everything else is getting cleaned too. Here are a few pictures of how the floor is coming along. Our family room is no longer yellow - everything is going to be white now. We'll take more pictures when the house is put back together!

Postcards galore!

Thank you to everyone who sent postcards to Randy for his school project!
He got so many!! He said he received the most out of everybody in both classes!
He brought them home on Friday, so we got to look at all of them.
Randy says that my friends have been everywhere!!!
It was a neat project! Thanks again for helping out!!

A few pics....

Finally, here are some zoo pictures!
Keith's class - his was one of five kindergarten classes from our school. There's a kangaroo...
A Meerkat...
And some zebras.

It's too hard to choose pictures since Jeff has taken so many! This is it for now.

297 pictures...

That's how many pictures Jeff took at the zoo on Friday. It was a fun day! I know it's almost been a week and I haven't posted anything yet, but I will!!! I've been busy. The family room is not yellow anymore and I still have lots more painting to do! I promise to post some pics and other stuff soon.

What a night!

Our smoke detectors all starting blaring their horrible sound at 3am and then again at 5am and yet again at 5:30am. The one in Keith's room had a run down battery and for some reason that set them all off. Later the one detector in the living room had a low battery and around 8am, the stupid noise went off again. I got home from work and I heard yet another detector chirping - telling me that the battery was low...... What are the odds of three of them doing that on the same dang day? I pulled the batteries out of all of them except for one that I can not reach. Good thing there was no real fire! But man, that was annoying!! I have to go buy a bunch of new 9 volt batteries!!! And my boys need haircuts. And I don't know what to make for dinner. And my doggie hasn't been to the dog park in a week in a half. And tomorrow we have to go to the zoo with a ton of kindergartners. And we're out of salami!!!

What happened last week?

I have no idea - I can't remember!!! But I'll try...
  • Yesterday, that was Sunday, we went to Home Depot, Food City, Fry's and WalMart and yes, we spent a ton of money! I reorganized the pantry and we've started to stock up the freezer in the garage. I had to go to work for a meeting and the boys played on their laptops.

  • Saturday Jeff took the carpet out of the family room in preparation to lay the laminate floor down. It's a good thing that nobody bought our area rug at any of our yard sales! I went to work. It was steady for a while, but then died down. Our other shop on Estrella Pkwy (which is super close to home) was really busy, so I went there to help out. By the time I got there, most of the customers had left, so I did one haircut/style - then I went home early!! We were invited to our neighbor's house to have tons of BBQ'd food and watch the Nascar race, not that any of us care about the races - we went anyway. The boys ended up deciding that they wanted waffles for dinner instead of the food that they were making - weird children, but what can I say? they take after us!!!!

  • Friday??? Hmmm?? I went to work. Jeff went to work. The boys went to school. And then what? I don't know. I think Keith's friend came over after homework was completed.

  • Thursday - more work and school.

  • Wednesday - Keith had a dentist appointment. He now has two silver teeth - that he really likes. I have to convince him that the silver teeth are not good -- we don't want anymore of those!! My parents boarded a plane to Jersey.

  • Tuesday? NO Clue!!!

  • Monday, the only thing I remember is being extremely annoyed that my Kindergartner now has a ton of homework to do each day after school. He used to have to do one book report everyday, then they would throw in an extra work sheet a couple of times a week. Now he has almost as much work to do as Randy, who's in second grade. The teacher says that they just want to prepare them for first grade, but in my opinion, I think it's way too much!!!!! Ugh!

  • That's all - I've got nothing else to say because I can't remember anything else. Have a good week -- leave me some comments - they're always fun to read!!

It's Sunday Morning

And the boys are playing on their laptops, dad is still sleeping and I am sitting here posting. Today is my sister's birthday and I guess we are going to their house to have some cake for lunch. (Or maybe we'll have real food for lunch and then cake?)
Ace has a date at the dog park today. He's going to meet a sweet girl that belongs to one of my customers!
Keith spelled all of his spelling words correctly on his spelling test on Friday!!!
Randy and I left Keith at his friend's house after school on Friday and as we were walking home, we helped a girl remove a bat from her garage! That was interesting.
Randy will be having testing all week, this week - that means no homework for the week - which is always nice. He has to get to bed early and eat a good breakfast - that's his homework.
What else? Hmmm....
Thursday Jeff brought home a big, fat TV - 62 inches big! He bought it from his boss and that same day, he sold our TV and entertainment center.
Friday Jeff got tickets to the Suns game, so we got to watch the Suns blow out the Timberwolves!
Work was busy for me yesterday - I did 31 haircuts and 1 color!
Jeff went out with his friend last night and the boys and I dined on Taco Bell.
I guess that's it for the excitement here.
I should probably go do some laundry now :-(

A new leaf or two...

We went to IKEA on Sunday and got these cool big leaves for the boys' rooms. They're attached to their beds now, so they get to sleep under the cover of a huge leaf! In case I haven't mentioned this before, I LOVE IKEA!
