The week in review...

If I can remember it that is...

Monday -the boys were off from school. I don't remember what we did that day, but I do remember that it was nice not to have to wake up early and rush out of the house.

Tuesday - back to school. I got a pedicure (red with flowers) and then I got a free burrito from Rubio's. I took the burrito home and found a message from the school nurse on the answering machine. Apparently Keith fell as he was running (because the girls were chasing him) and hit his head on the sidewalk. She fixed him up and sent him to class. I called her and she told me the same thing she said on the answering machine. I figured it would be safe to eat my lunch after that. Not even 10 minutes later, the nurse calls again to say that Keith is back in her office and doesn't feel well. So I picked him up and then finished my lunch while he did his homework. Turns out that he was fine - just wanted to come home (the little booger).

Wednesday- is their short day - getting home at 12:30. After taking the boys to school, I met my friends at Ground Control, for our regular Wednesday breakfast. After school we went to the library. We also went to the park and found a lost Pomeranian doggie. She had a collar with a phone number on it, so we brought her home and called the number. When her owner called back, we walked Raven back home, which was only a hop, skip and jump away from the park! While she was with us, she was in the back yard and Henry was inside with a mohawk, curved back and super puffy tail. I wonder what might have happened if the two were in the same room - but I decided not to find out.

Thursday- I got my hair colored at work. It was very slow, so it was the perfect time to get me fixed up! (I tried taking a pic of myself, but it wasn't pretty, so Homer took a picture of me). After school we stopped by Mama and Papa's house and who was there you ask? Their friends from Sierra Vista. Keith stayed there for a while and Randy I went to PetsMart. We needed piggy hay and pellets. We checked to see if they had any kitties, but there weren't any -- that's a good thing because when there are kitties, we're always tempted to bring one home. We also spotted Michele, Brooke and Sophie - there for their first doggie training class. Jeff didn't get home until 11pm that night! Ugh!!! He had to go to his boss's house and work on his computer.

Friday- Jeff came home early from work. We had dinner at Pei Wei and then we were off to the Greyhound Park in Phoenix for our orientation and tour. We learned all that we needed to know about adopting and caring for and loving a greyhound.

Saturday - I left work early because it was slow and because BK loves me! I got home around 3pm and had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful weather. Jeff washed both of our vehicles, while I sat out there eating, reading and talking to everyone that came by. Anyu and Cathy slowed down to talk to us for a minute. Bruce and Penny were outside, so I chatted with them for a while. Sean came by with his gorgeous doggie, Ginger. Darrell came by with his new puppy, Shelby - a teeny, tiny chihuahua - so cute!

Sunday - today was a nice day. We slept late and took it easy. I planted my grape vine and blackberry vine and cleaned up my snail vine. Jeff put the lights in the backyard -- it all looks nice and neat now. The boys enjoyed plenty of Battlefield playing. I got to go to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant with some of my co-workers. In case you were wondering, I had the fried catfish.

All in all, it was a pretty good week. Hope you can all say the same!!

Presidents Day

No school today. We stayed home most of the morning. I finished reading the book that I started the other day - "Daughter of Darkness" by Steven Spruill. It was actually pretty good considering it was about vampires. After reading I decided I had better do some really fun stuff, like fold clean clothes and put them away, change the sheets on the beds, put the clean dishes away, etc. Then we went to Mama's and Papa's and gave both of them haircuts. As we were leaving to go to Mama's, the Schwan's man showed up. We had him follow us to my mom's so she could order stuff too. And I bet you're wondering what we're having for dinner tonight.... (I'm hungry already!!) We're having Bourbon Beef Flat-Iron Steaks. They are yummy! Too bad I don't have gas for the grill (and I'm too lazy to get some), but not to worry - they will be just as tasty broiled. The boys wanted to play at the park for a while and since the weather is perfect we decided to do it now before we miss out on all the good weather because you know it'll be 115 degrees in no time!

Yesterday we went to Margaritaville for lunch. We got sit in the boat while we ate. It was neat and the food was pretty good. Of course I forgot to take the camera again, so we have no pictures of the dancing water, or the boat that we had lunch in. We also went to WalMart - I bought grapes and blackberries -- and now I have to plant them! I hope they grow and we get to eat them!!

I left work early on Saturday - I never complain about that. My friend brought her kids over, so she and her husband could attend a party. We had a camp-out in the family room in front of the TV - the perfect camping spot - close to the fridge and the bathroom. But I have to say that I am looking forward to going camping again. I'm just not sure when we'll be doing it.

Friday was the "Sock Hop" at school. Keith was very into it and had a great time! Randy was his usual stick in the mud self. He just sat next to me the whole time - oh well, it was fun anyway.

I did say I would take pictures of the boys when it was "Dress like a teacher day". And I did take one.... Keith changed his mind that morning and didn't want to dress like a teacher and he was happy to wear his regular uniform.

I'm going to sit on the couch and watch Star Wars with the boys!

Renaissance Festival

I love the Renaissance Festival!!!! Randy scaled the castle wall!!!! Look at him go! That was very cool!!

Keith tried his hand at firing the crossbow.
Both boys took a turn with the bow and arrow.
We watched the Wyldmen show (crazy guys who ended up in the big mud hole!)
and saw Three Guys & Lots of Drums (like the name implies -
there were 3 guys and some drums & they were pretty funny!).
We saw some Gypsies dance. We saw royalty strolling about.
We had bread bowls filled with broccoli and cheese soup -
in fact Randy waited a year to eat that again!
As we sat in the grass we had an Irish storyteller sit with us and tell us a tale
(which I had to translate for the boys!).
We saw the Greenman -- he's a walking tree!!! Very cool!
And can you believe that I forgot to take the camera?
Now you're wondering how we got the shots of Randy scaling the castle --
Jeff used his phone. They even had Ye Old Wi-Fi!!
We visited the petting zoo.
Randy came home brandishing a new dagger and Keith decided on a dirk.
The seller of weapons instructed them that they were only used for slaying dragons.
A few steps away from the weapon cart, a fair lady further instructed the boys on the use of their fine new weaponery.
We checked out the elephant, camel and llama,
but didn't take a ride on any of them this time.
We visited with the Greyhounds of Fairhaven.
They were promoting the adoption of retired racing Greyhounds --
and of course we are considering doing just that! We shall see.
Anyway, I love the Renaissance Festival!!!
I want to live there and I definitely want to go back!!
And take my camera!

Sportin' New Dos

The boys got haircuts on Sunday. Keith decided he wanted short hair! He thinks he looks like Papa now. Randy likes his hair short - the past two haircuts I didn't cut the back so it could get longer, but this time we cut it off. Keith thinks that Randy looks like dad now. I think he looked like dad anyway.

This week is Spirit Week at school. Today is sports day - hence the Suns shirts! Yesterday was career day. That was tough - how do you dress like a dentist? Keith went with camoflauge - being a soldier and Randy wore a shirt with a basketball on it - NBA star? You never know. Tomorrow is dress like a teacher day. They both decided that they'll dress like Mr. Casey - the assistant prinicple. That means button down shirts with ties! I had to go buy one for Randy! And I plan on taking pictures tomorrow! Thursday of course is red/pink shirt day and Friday is "twin" day. Friday is also the Sock Hop - the boys aren't too sure if we'll be attending that event yet. And tonight is Papa John's Pizza Night! WooooHoooo!

Monday...

Jeff went to work early. Keith went to school. Randy stayed home.
He has a fever (again). Yesterday Jeff and the boys went to a friend's house to watch the big game. They came home a little earlier than expected because Randy wasn't having fun.
I guess it's hard to have fun, when you aren't feeling well.
So we spent the day taking it easy. I can't complain about that.
Although I can complain about Randy being sick.
It's no fun when your kids are sick and you can't make them feel better!
This picture was taken last week, when both boys were feeling fine.
With homework finished we played a game of Cadoo.
Randy won twice. I won once and Keith gave up.
I think we all had fun though.
Here's Keith enjoying his favorite meal... Mac & Cheese!
What's for dinner? I know I'm not having Mac & Cheese!
