It's sunny today

It rained all day yesterday - yuck!
I won't ever live here long enough to be happy when it's raining.
I know we need the rain, but I still don't have to like it.
I was supposed to go hiking with friends yesterday, but since it was raining
(I wasn't going to hike in the rain) we met for coffee at Mokarabia -
a cute coffee shop in Verrado.
The boys stayed inside - they kept themselves dry and
didn't let the computers get too cold either.
Today I went to lunch with my mother and sister - we went to TGIFridays.
It was cold in there!! But the food was yummy anyway.
When the boys get home from school they will have homework to do.
You know, I don't like homework!
How we can blame kids for not liking it?
Oh well, it must be done and heck, they'll only get smarter from it.

Monster Truck

The boys and I went to see Grave Digger today. It was at UTI (Universal Technical Institute). Monster Jam is tomorrow night at Chase Field, but we aren't going this time. We got to see Grave Digger up close and some other vehicles. We also got some free vittles - BBQ sandwiches, chippos and soda. Of course my children only ate the chips. And Randy was being his usual stick in the mud self, as you can see in the pictures... I forced him to stand in one.

The sick boys...

Are feeling a little bit better, but not completely. They did rest for a while, but after two days of laying on the couch and being stuck inside, we needed to get out. We went to McDonald's for some not so yummy lunch. Then we went to West Gate and walked around, went into The Body Shop, Margaritaville, Fossil, The Coffee Plantation, and Cold Stone Creamery. We watched the fountains dance to music and we enjoyed the sun warming us up while we sat outside eating our ice cream. Then we stopped at Old Navy and got new sweat-jackets. We made one more stop before going home - the all important purchasing of the lottery tickets. One of these days I will have the winning numbers! We went home and relaxed for a little while, then decided to share our germs with Mama and Auntie - they appreciated that. We decided to have breakfast for dinner... eggs with tomato, red onion, red peppers and parsley with toast. It was yummy! Now I'm ready to put the boys to bed even though it isn't quite bedtime yet!!

What's new, you ask...

I got a new jacket. The boys got new shirts (and a new toy, just because I felt like getting them each a new toy). You can't see Randy's shirt, but it's there, I promise. Randy has a fever today and isn't feeling very well, so he's taking it easy. Oh, and what else is new? Jeff got a new CAR!! Now I ask you - is that fair? I did just get a pedicure, so maybe that evens things out a bit. On second thought... No, it doesn't. Next new car is mine! My Escape was traded in and I have inherited the Element, or as I like to call it, the Smellement. Not that it's smelly, I just like to call it that. So Homer is now the proud owner of a Mini Cooper. I have to say that I like the Mini a whole lot better than the funny, little, joke of a SmartForTwo.
In case anyone was wondering what's on the menu, here it is...
Friday my boys and I had a date. Randy, Keith and I went to TGI Fridays for dinner. Of course we got those super delicious Fried Green Beans! Both boys had chicken fingers with fries. I had the Cedar-Seared Salmon Pasta. Jeff (and friends) went to Abuelos and had some chicken fajitas. Last night we went to the Cracker Barrel. Jeff had chicken salad, Keith had grilled cheese, Randy had chicken and I had the catfish. Tonight I went out with a few ladies from work - to the Yard House. I had the Margarita Pizza. All yummy stuff!!
Piggy is very fond of parsley - that's the little bugger's favorite food. He wants nothing to do with collard greens. The little piggy likes lots of things... romaine lettuce, cucumbers, green and red peppers, celery, spinach, kale, tomatoes, apples, bananas and he even likes cilantro, but the smell of that makes me nauseous. The kitties love their "maxie snacks", but normally they just get boring old dry IAMS vittles, but shhhhh, don't tell them that it's boring, they don't seem to know.
Can you believe the Giants beat the Packers?? Can you believe the Giants are going to play the Patriots in the super bowl????

Friday Night

We went to see the Harlem Globetrotters! Thanks for the tickets Lisa!! It was fun. Those guys are pretty silly, but they sure know how to handle the basketball(s). SpecialK was exceptionally funny. He pulled down the pants of a player trying to make a foul shot. He took popcorn from a spectator and proceeded to eat it in the middle of the game, and then "accidentally" spilled it in the middle of the court. He dumped water on some spectators. He took a lady's pocketbook and then had her dance with him and she had to kiss him to get her pocketbook back. Both boys liked the "show". So did I! I used to watch them on TV when I was little. I need to go do stuff... you should too.

A beautiful day!

The boys got home from school and decided to play outside.
It was so nice out!
I was cold in the house, but outside the sun was so warm, I was hot!!
After a little playing, it was homework time.
Keith told me that he likes school... he likes recess and doing his work!!
Randy has never said any such thing! But he's doing fine in school.
Now we are watching the Transformers movie.
Transformers... more than meets the eye! Sing it everybody!
I have to see if we've won the lottery. Bought some tickets last night.
We're having chicken tonight because Homer isn't bringing dinner from that new chinese place.
Just checked the numbers - we didn't win, dang it!!!
I'm cold again.
I think I'll go stand in front of the fireplace and play with Piggy while I'm at it.

Puddies and Piggy

Here's a picture of Ginger and Henry hanging out with the little piggy.

Jeff was changing the bedding so he put the piggy on the carpet with the top of the cage
(with the door open).
Ginger went inside with Mr. Piggy, but Henry only ventured in after Piggy came out.
Mr. Wiggles (yes, he has quite a few different nicknames) decided to go behind the entertainment center (Max, the scaredy cat's sanctuary)
and Max came flying out from behind it.
The boys went back to school today after a little more than two weeks off.
I'm all by myself! I was a little sad at first, but I'm getting used to it.
I do have a ton of cleaning to do, so I'm off!

It's the 4th of January already!

And I haven't even said Happy New Year - so now I'm saying it!!
Happy New Year everyone!
We had a peaceful new year's eve.
The boys were up until 10pm, but I'm sure they could have stayed up longer.
Jeff and I were up until midnight and then some, watching Paranormal State.
Finally I got to see that show and I like it!
It seems better than Ghost Hunters, but I still like that one a lot too.
We got some Fat Bastard wine with which we planned on celebrating the new year, but we never took it out of the fridge.
Oh well, we'll just have to drink it later at some point -
you know how much we love to drink! We may even have some of it left for new year '09!!
We spent new year's day very relaxed.
We went to Islands for lunch.
Went to Old Navy and incredibly I didn't buy anything.
Guitar Center was closed.
But Bed, Bath and Beyond was open -
I finally used my $25 gift card there.
I can't believe the winter break is over! Monday the boys go back to school and I'm not ready for it!
They haven't driven me crazy yet and I like not havng to wake up early and rush out of the house! But I guess all good things must come to an end and those boys have lots of learning to do, so they need to go back to school!
That's all for now - it's almost 10am and I still haven't eaten breakfast! I meant to, but I've been distracted!!!
